Overview
The Golf Shop Retail Manager is a key position in El Caballero's Golf Operation. The Retail Manager will be responsible for the success of the golf retail operation through selecting, purchasing, and displaying a desirable and appropriate array of merchandise. The Golf Shop Retail Manager will be responsible for ensuring an organized system for invoicing, billing, returning and crediting merchandise, and will manage the special order process with a high level of service.
Experience Required
-Minimum of 5 years experience in retail environment
-A fundamental knowledge of retail and merchandising. Knowledge of golf products is preferred but not mandatory.
-Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
-Proficient with technology including inventory management software and point-of-sale systems
-Dependable, service-oriented and organized.
-Task driven and able to multi-task. Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
-Excellent Communication Skills both in-person, over the phone and over email
Essential Responsibilities
-Responsible for selecting and purchasing all merchandise within open to buy plan
-Presents desirable and appropriate array of apparel and accessories, within open to buy guidelines, maintaining appropriate cost of goods sold percentage.
-Responsible for following an organized system for invoicing, billing, returning and crediting merchandise
-Assist members with all special ordering needs. Place, track, and bill all special orders ensuring proper follow up as needed
-Receive and stock merchandise as needed
-Conduct accurate and timely physical inventory counts
-Greet all guests warmly upon arrival and exceed member service expectations
-Keep a well-organized shop as well as back-office space. Maintain retail displays, replenishing and rearranging stock as necessary
-Maintain a visible presence, engage with the membership, and learn preferences to increase sales
-Retail lead for event merchandise, ensuring timely delivery and proper billing
-Execute merchandise plans based on seasonal buys
-Work cohesively with golf operations staff, helping with any member or guest needs
-Comply with all Club rules and regulations
-Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community
