JOB DESCRIPTION We are the leading roofing company that services most of LA county. We are searching for someone experienced in roofing to help with leak detection on customer projects. We are looking for someone that can solve difficult problems and come up with creative solutions that meet the customers' needs and solves the problems found. This job requires both technical know-how along with interpersonal skills. Here's how a water test works: Interior Inspection : Leak Detection Supervisor will start by examining the interior of your home, particularly the area where you've noticed the leak or water damage. They'll look for any visible signs of moisture or staining on the ceiling or walls. This step helps them narrow down the general location of the leak. Isolating the Suspected Area : Based on their initial findings, roofers will isolate the suspected area where the leak may be occurring. This is typically done by identifying the nearest point in the attic or interior where water damage is visible. Controlled Water Application : With the suspected area isolated, roofers will simulate rainfall by applying a controlled amount of water to that specific spot on the roof. This can be done using a hose or other precise methods. The goal is to replicate the conditions that lead to the leak. Observing Water Entry : While the water is applied, roofing professionals will closely monitor the interior for any signs of water entry. This includes looking for dripping water, dampness, or staining on the ceiling or walls. The location where water penetration is observed can provide crucial information about the leak's source. Adjustment and Confirmation : If water entry is observed, the test can be adjusted by applying water to different parts of the roof to confirm the source definitively. By systematically testing various sections of the roof, roofers can pinpoint the exact location of the leak. Repairs : Once the source of the leak is identified, repairs can be undertaken promptly. Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, this may involve patching damaged areas, replacing roofing materials, or addressing issues with flashing, seals, or vents. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able to get on roofs and diagnose problems. Carry and safely setup a ladder along with any other tools and equipment needed for the job. Minimum Requirements 15-year experience in Roofing & Construction Ability to track leaks Good understanding of exterior waterproofing envelopes. Ability to work with and utilize basic technology.
